Doing it if you don't know the clip, that's another matter. Start to get into a cliquish supporting people rather than the work thing there and that I'm not fond of.

to check if video quality is ok before upvoting
btw I often watch my videos over and over.
(OT: I'd like firefox spellchecker to be automatically set to get both languages, It's annoying to switch it every time)
I don't see anything wrong with clicking through and watching there, full screen has never worked for me here even when we had it so that's the only way I see them full screen. Likely my fault at the time since it seemed to work for others. Too many java and other restictions but it's more secure.
My thoughts exactly.
Honestly I won't watch a video again if I've seen it before (a commercial or documentary) and go ahead and upvote it. Same with videos at 9 in the queue...
I vote based on all manner of criteria, the least of which sometimes is the viddy standing alone......People make the site, not these viddies.....
choggie, on the clique thing we'd just disagree I guess. I'll drop you a private note on that. I like you for some of the things you've posted and done, I like Fedquip for the same reasons. Won't let either fact excuse either of you if you're wrong or post something I don't like though, and I don't quite understand the animosity between you two. Not my business though so I guess I don't need to. Wish it wasn't so public though.
Man I with I wasn't an internet slut pothead, then I might have something witty to say.
In any case, I don't see the "unique view" thing, I sure as hell haven't watched this video more then once (yet, it might come in handy later) Otherwise I assure you there is only one person using this account... unless my fish are playing on the computer when I am out.
But since I'm not reloading the page I guess it doesn't count.
- Views by non-logged-in and logged-in users alike count toward the simple view counter (the total times viewed).
- Views only by logged-in users count toward the unique counter.
- If you view your own video, it does not count toward any views at all (not the simple counter and not the unique counter).
Question: if you push through to the origin page (click on the video and go to the YouTube page), and watch the video there, instead of here will it register a unique view here? The great thing is that with the new version of the site, any way you arrive at a video embed requires that you do something that will count toward the corresponding post's views. IOW, there's no way to get to the embed to click through to YouTube without incrementing the views for the post on the sift.
That sounds like a challenge!
Technically Lucky, one can click on the embed link and not trigger a view. From there you can pull the YouTube URL for the video, copy it into your browser's location and go watch the video.
What do you mean exactly, twiddles? What "embed link" can you click on without triggering a view? I'm searching my mind and unable to come up with the situation you've described. Hmm...
Mr. Twiddles, you are a clever one. Perhaps we should count those as views as well... Kidding. I'm sure that's an eventuality we can all live with.
