Duplicate Posts..

Would it be possible to log all the 'embed' code somewhere so when a person tries to submit a video and it's already on videosift, they would get a duplication error? Seems like something similar to that would save Dag and others time deleting dupe posts..

Unfortunately, people don't use very good tags sometimes so just trying to search for a video you want to add that is already on videosift will not always be found. It's happened to me a few times.

The problem with that is that a lot of videos are hosted 30 + times on youtube, or google video... Clearly we do need to work on a better solution... maybe some sort of tag search engine that asks you to make sure it isn't one of the following videos or something before it lets you submit.

good call. didn't think of that. good idea with the search tags and check with submitter though, sounds like it would work.

Yeah, it should be something like Digg's submission checker.

I agree; I've had my past few deleted because of duplicates, even when I did a search first...
