Change to VS home page... Maybe Unsifted?

This has probably been brought up before, but I'll bring it up again. If VideoSift is all about "sifting" videos, then why have the front page be the already "Sifted"? Why not change it to Unsifted? Maybe then more first time users and some regulars will look at the unsifted videos first, and help clear the queue out faster.

I see how it would make sense from a sifter's poin-of-view, but since there are more visitors here than sifters... the point is to show the best on the front page right?

I can see that side of the argument... but at the same time, have you seen the front page of youtube lately? I could sift a scat video and it would probably be better than what they are offering. So maybe, an added line at the top of the page? Something to the effect of, "for the best of VideoSift this week, (today, whatevr) click here"?

The vast, vast majority of visitors are here to look at our sifting fruit.

Plus, I'm a liberal - so there's nooo way I'm going to let something like this happen.

Maybe make the homepage the Hot tab. That's a ready-made compromise.

Exactly what I was going to say, Dag. The site isn't about "sifting" videos, as much as our community as sprung up around that idea. It's about the best of the best videos scoured from YT, Break, yada, yada, etc, etc.

I do not want to see unsifted on home page. I come here for quality videos. I do check out unsifted ones once in a while.

Or better, have user have options to have unsifted or sifted home page. Now the question which one would be a default.
