I don't know if he's unsafe - though he was looking a bit dozey. But he must have been hit from behind to get thrown to the back like that.

The car spins during the accident, the fixed mirror cam and lack of outdoor cues masks it. The rotated car slams to a stop when pointing backwards, sending him for a ride to the backseat. This guy appears to sleep for a couple seconds solid. I heard this guy lived.

I tracked down the story behind this video. The guy not only survived, but he walked away from the accident and filed his own accident report before going home at the end of his shift.

He was a cab driver for Yellow Cab of Huntington, W.Va. The driver was heading west on Interstate 64 early one Sunday morning when he nodded off, veered right into a guard rail and then careened back across the highway, with the car landing on its roof in the median strip (from an article in the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette).

Great advert for 2 hands on wheel (especially when you're careering out of control) and what an idiot, look at the driver's seat after the crash, untouched... wear a seatbelt! Silly Americans and their stubborness to wear one!

The cameras run full time. Normally video is thrown away, except for the seconds surrounding a high G force event.

Interesting also that he never once puts the other hand on the wheel. That would be my first instinctive reaction. And thanks for the background Garsh. Didn't know he was a cab driver. That makes sense.
