AT&T, then Cingular, now AT&T again give you a detailed listing with every text message you send and recieve, but her data plan with the iPhone probably gives her unlimited messages, so really it's just a complete waste. Multiply this times a good number of new iPhone purchases and some paper mill somewhere had a really good month.

It's not just text messages. It contains your activity on the internet too. For example if you do something on the internet, it might say "Data Transfer". On the same line it also says the size of the transfer, 40kb or whatever. For what the transfer contained, it says "data". As though one could not figure that out on their own.

At&t is crap. When I was with them they charged me for 64 text messages I never sent much less ever typed into my phone. I was pissed and eventually they re-billed the correct amount, after a small war and threatened lawsuit. but I want nothing to do with that shit company.

But who expects "detailed billing" for a cell phone to include every little access to every little web page, including every little picture on that web page? Everybody's been complaining about their first iPhone bills from AT&T for this reason.

Why would the bill detail data usage if the data is all sent and received off the network on WiFi? I can understand that if you use the network to use the internet, but this is different.
