I can't decide whether it was a 'hey let's video tape up punching random pedestrians' cause they thought they were such tough thugs, or more likely this is some mugging scheme where they pretend to be arguing and then jump people at the last minute.

It is odd there is a spy videographer. I'd have to say he reacted correctly, not berserk, because these situations can end up with you getting knifed and mugged real quick. So I doubt it was only because the chick got clocked.

From the looks on their faces they weren't going to let that asswhipping slide. All i know is that i've had my weekly dosage of asscrack in just one day.

I doubt even EU laws would not deem this self-defense. I guess you could argue the guy went a little nuts and licensed boxers can be charged as 'lethal weapons'. (Because they are trained badasses)

They deserved it - crazy freaks!

Reminds me of this time I was walking with g/f and old friend (who is the closest person I know to a kickboxer). Well two guys were yelling at each other about who knows what. We turned to look at the commotion and one of them came at us, trying to start a fight with us!

Words were exchanged, and that idiot was incredibly lucky to run away when he did. Oddly enough, when we whipped out cell phones and started dialling 911, he decided he didn't want to stand around any longer.

Wow. Awesome video dirt. Just awesome. That guy's a trained boxer but those other two were trained at taking a punch it seems. Tre cool (in the words of Parker Lewis.)

My guess (assuming it wasn't staged) is those two low-lifes were causing a ruckus so the cameraman pulled out his thing and did his job waiting for those initial two guys to fight.

Note to self - come back after a while and promote this.

It's funny that you presume more resources are required for those things when it's quite the opposite, if anything.
There is no more processing required to post a comment with Ajax than normal posting. In fact, the server-side process is much simpler and likely uses fewer resources.
As far as the instantaneous siftbot goes, that will be a great reduction in processing power because with a cron job, siftbot searches *all* recent comments for invocations (very taxing), but in his renovated form he will only do processing on a comment-by-comment basis. That's a vast improvement.

My theory is it wasn't a mugging at all, but rather that one or both of the two guys had an ongoing feud with the boxer. That's why the one thug took a cheap shot at his girlfriend, probably betting the guy would be intimidated and keep walking, humiliated. It looks more like a cheap shot than the start of an earnest mugging attempt. But who knows?

interesting. I'd say the guy in the white jacket is some thug trying to run the streets a bit, and the black jacket guy may even have a gripe with him; notice the black jacket dude isn't enjoying the company of the white jacket guy from the beginning, then he tries to calm the fighter down, but gets beaten for his association with the guy that hits women.

Anybody think maybe it was a case of a happy slapper? That would explain the video camera.

That, or it's entirely staged...I only mention that possibility because the camera operator doesn't even mutter a "Gosh" at all during the whole thing, which you'd expect someone to do, given what we just saw.

I agree about the happy slapping video here. The two guys are clearly pretending to be having an arguement.. This is a common technique used by muggers to seems less suspicious. So I kinf od feel the video guy is with the two thugs and they thought it would make an awesome happy slapping video.. Until they messed with the wrong guy. Too bad the girlfriend stops the boxer from really hurting these guys.
