Damn just tried to submit this one. I enjoyed this, mainly because of the big culture clash. The weedy little Mormon dudes- seemed so lost.

Don't get the idea that Mormons are weak though. I just finished reading Under the Banner of Heaven: The Story of a Violent Faith. Mormons were at one point of the "kill 'em all, and let God sort 'em out" persuasion.

I didn't think the black guy was particularly rude... it's a typical non-midwestern attitude towards missionaries - after all, those guys rode up out of nowhere and started pressuring him to listen to them without discussion.
I think the black guy just took the whole concept of what they are trying to do and dominated the situation. With those guys? It's the ONLY way to get them to shut up. Dunno how many mormons you've had come to your door but those people are persistant and well kinda rude in their zeal. This guy has a bright interesting discussion (albeit with some incorrect information) with them wherein they aren't dominating the whole time, like they are used to doing. Frankly, they are lucky he didn't tell them to F*** off like most people do. They (as usual) get to the point of insulting their audience by telling them something to the effect of "well you're wrong by god and therefore in danger of going to hell" - most christians do not believe they are going to hell and to say such is a prime insult. I thought the guy handled it pretty well.

Well, when I confront religious missionaries I allow them the chance to speak instead of seizing upon the first opportunity to parse ("the people") and basically not letting them get another word in. It's pretty hypocritical to say "we're having a discussion", "you been shut down already", and "no I don't have to stop and let you speak" all in the same breath.

As for exposure to mormons, the best friend I had growing up was a mormon. He took me to his temple, church functions, etc.. and told me about his magic underpants and everything. He mostly rejected it when we were 12 - 17, but after one year of college he went on a mission to Mexico.

I was actually raised Mormon, and while I stopped caring about religion back in about 8th grade, I found this rather interesting. I'm not entirely sure it's not staged. Notice how dark it is and how few people are at the restaurant? Mormon missionaries have very strict guidelines about when they have to be back in their apartments, usually about 9 P.M. while it's possible that it was that late, the way that the big black dude keeps looking at the camera and the way that the missionaries responded suggests that it was probably staged.

What are the odds that you're going to run into two Mormon missionaries with your camera in hand and rolling just for that purpose?

Also, their introduction was off somehow. Like I said, I was raised Mormon, and I'd never seen a missionary introduce themself like that. That was too abrupt, they never told their names or anything, and it was entirely lacking in the standard introduction that Mormon missionaries give (Good afternoon/evening, I'm Elder Brown, I was wondering etc.).

On top of that, it's quite clear that most of the Mormon missionaris's responses are edited out selectively. Downvoting for crap.

mormons tend to just repeat memorized speeches. I chewed on a pair of them one time outside a grocery store, and after 10 minutes of pulling up stuff from the bible itself, they got glassy eyed, lost, and started reciting memorized lectures about articles of faith and how great it is to suck joseph smith's rotting cock. I'm an atheist, and I know more about that that jumbled mess of contradictory hatred, bigotry, and murder than most "believers".

Mormons study the Holy Bible. Old and New Testaments. That guy won the "debate" by not letting his opponents speak. Looks like they were dumbfounded at the fact that he was so proud of himself for not letting them get a word in edgewise.

But.... Mormon Missionaries aren't supposed to "Bible Bash." It is highly frowned upon. It's obviously not a very effective way of making friends.

I find that people usually don't want to talk about religion by means of an uninvited Saturday morning visit. Some like to converse about it. I tend to welcome my Mormon missionaries into my abode, bongs visible, empty beer cans lined along the sink, floyd blaring in the background and offer the opportunity for an open discussion. Haven't had much luck with the Mormons taking me up on the offer.

...maybe I should wear clothes when I answer the door next time.

Exactly, but there wasn't a lot of that going on here. In fact, there wasn't a lot of ANYTHING going on here, lol. I feel like all the actual polite discussion on the part of the Mormon missionaries was edited out by the guys who made this, so I have to downvote just as I would downvote anythign where somebody selectively edits and makes a video for the express purpose of trying to make somebody look bad without any real reason.

budzos, there's a freaking example of it being edited at just 21 seconds in, where it suddenly shifts to the end of a sentence. I don't know what you're NOT watching if you can't notice that very obvious chunk cut out. I never said it was a fake specifically, but I did say that it just seemed off to me, as somebody who's known a LOT of Mormon missionaries. Looking at this again, this is most likely caused by them cutting out stuff at the beginning, which could probably include introductions and would certainly include anything that the missionaries were actually saying. After cutting out the part where the Mormon missionaries probably politely discussed things with them or said their part, the end result was just a guy "owning" them, i.e. talking over them and being an ass. Stupidity all around, gj guys.
