I guess they couldn't get the tripod through security...

...would have been more exciting if it were a surface to air missile.

wicked. surprised how close the flight paths are from the shuttle launch. Don't let the "terrorists" find out about this... Oh wait, you can't start a war over a space shuttle going down...

It's amazing to me how big the sky is and how long it takes to get out into space, but when you see pictures from space, our atmosphere looks like an onion skin. I love stuff like that.

Gah! Why did the video stop there? The video is 109 seconds long, starting a few seconds after liftoff. The solid rocket boosters detach at 126 seconds and it's a beautiful sight.

Damn! They say airplanes are the only way to travel, but I say find a way to use space shuttles to replace airplanes for international flights. The flight would be over before they could offer pretzels!

Well, thinner air helps, but the trick is that the higher it goes, the more fuel it's spent, so the less it weighs, so the same thrust will push it faster.

LOL I only see "Canadian Bacon" when I'm in the states, so I don't know where it comes from. Restaurants only really serves bacon strips... and its hard to find back bacon in the supermarket.
