I can see a kid being excited to try something like that (e.g., the NES Powerglove I got as a youngin'), but that laundry list of caveats and restrictions by itself is a enough to drive you nuts. You have to stand away for 20 seconds to recalibrate every time you start the Genesis? Sheesh. Those two Oscar-winners did a great job of selling it too. They didn't look awkward or uncomfortable at all.

Recalibrate every time you turn on the Genesis? Damn - that's ridiculous. And unintentionally hilarious.

I can also imagine pudgy kids getting tired and losing their game. Or just waving their hands haphazardly instead of actually doing those oh so cool kicks. Heh.

I'm invisiging lots of ingame frustration spilling over into accidental flying roundhouse chuck norris style kicks to the other player. Not to mention the fact you look like a complete retard while attempting anything.

Regardng the list from the link I provided, I am actually one of the 6 people in North America who liked the original Xbox controller. It was ideal for my big ol' gorilla hands!

Wow that truly sucks. But what a great post. The voice over guy has what I would describe as a late 80s, early 90s voice. I don't know how to describe it, but I know it when I hear it.

I loved Sega in the late 80s, Phantasy Star is quite possibly the best RPG ever made - tie with Ultima IV on the Apple IIe

I'm pretty sure that some of you guys take your gaming a bit too seriously....

Actually, this looks to me like an ideal way to encourage pudgy kids (of all ages) to put down their handhelds, get up off of their pudgy butts and get active...bring up the energy level...bring down the obesity factor...

Heck, maybe some too-serious-gamers might even discover that they prefer real live physical activity....who knows? perhaps the next generation of semi-pro kickboxers, competitive ballroom dancers or long distance frog-kick swimmers are just an "ACTIVATOR" away.

I agree pickleking, though the DDR games should do well for exercise. My kids and I play it a lot at home (I need the "easy" setting for my uncoordinated butt!)
and I don't know deathcow, I can't see the button on the video either...strange
