If this doesn't qualify as a mysterious ant upvote, then I do not know what does.

What boggles my mind is people who downvote robot chicken parodies where they whip fictitious animals, and then upvote crap that not only is demeaning to women. It lets you kill them.

And this is coming from the guy who posted Topless Tennis. My point is: there is a line.

I have an idea lets make a game where we can pick your vise... Kill the Jews, Blacks, Irish, Aussies even. Hell you have a problem with the French. Just Nuke Em'. There are appetites game makers should not fulfill.

First of all GTA IV is not a 1st person shooter.

Second of all anyone who thinks there is definitely harm done in the gratuitous carnage in some video games is an imbecile.

Third of all keep violent video games out of the hands of children but stop telling adults what they can and can't enjoy in their movies, video games or other art.

The people that create the backlash against this game are fundamentally ignorant. After years of playing the GTA franchise, I have not killed one person nor run over any pedestrians. Nor do I feel any more angry or violent urges than that douche choggy. What I know about GTA is that it satirizes our daily lives, its all satire. People who thrash GTA should really say why they hate it: because it represents Freedom, and it pisses them off.

The main thing that annoys me about all the anti-GTA talk is that GTA is a sandbox game - they created a world with a system of rules. It's rife for emergent gameplay. Meaning, everyone in the game world can die, you can drive all the vehicles, you can shoot the weapons, etc... It's not like the programmers spent a month putting in the "have sex with then kill women" feature. This is something that people figured out they could do within the GTA world. Do I endorse this gameplay? No. I didn't upvote the video cause I think it's lame and boring, showing the more boring and lame aspect of GTA. But do I think that it's GTA's fault? Absolutely not. GTA IV is a brilliant game, with dialogue and storyline better than most movies. The most disappointing thing about the anti-GTA conversation is that people who complain about it usually miss the wonderful satire of our world within the game. The major media would not want to believe it because of all the talk about violence and sex, but GTA is really an example of the height of games, atleast narratively speaking. It's truly brilliant satire.

But in 50 years, people won't be complaining about the violence and sex in video games. By then there will be a new form of media, maybe virtual experiences pumped straight into the brain, and video games will be forgotten just like books - and no longer censored. It's like the giant anti-violent movie sentiment of the early 90's. The media has a new competitor to flog, so for now it's video games...
