I like how much science have helped the world of sports, from bats in baseball to ping pong/tennis paddles. Now swim suits. Is it still a disaplay of human abilities? Thoughts?

Well, it's a matter of regulations. So let's compare with F1: FINA speed swimmers are allowed to wear speedos/suits (carrosserie) but aren't allowed to add propulsion with finns (motors).
I think it would be interesting to also have speed swimming without suits (with speedos , so there would be even more possible world swimming records.

This is pretty old stuff. They had the swimming suits in world level and olympic games for one year, but if I recall correcly, they banned them and removed the records done with the suits on.

Returning to the original rules would remove any argument on what is legal/not legal to wear. Just have the athletes naked. The censors would have their work cut out for them tho.
