Jamie Pierre, 32, of Salt Lake City, announced on Friday 27 Jan that he made his record-breaking jump on Wednesday as a way to spread the Christian word. He has previously dropped 180 feet and said he had been calculating this jump and waiting for perfect conditions for years.

"It wasn?t some yahoo stunt," Pierre said. "I chose to do it so it would open up doors so I could witness my faith in Christianity."

About 100 feet into the jump, Nielsen said Pierre couldn?t keep his skis under him and went upside down. He landed headfirst and blew a hole 6 feet deep into the snow.

Nielsen said a photographer rushed in and dug Pierre out of the snow.

"Jamie pretty much walked away with a cut lip," he said.

Pierre said he was lucky to be alive.

Pierre said he landed in the perfect spot. [Ed: ie on his HEAD!?]

"I hit the nail on the head," he said. "The fact that I came out unscathed and landed where I planned ? faith played a role in it."

I congratulate this person. it shows that compleat idoicy and religoin go hand in hand. under the same logick he should test his faith by droping a concreat slab on his head surly his faith would save him?

I really hate people like that because:

A) God doesn't care.
B) Faith isn't supposed to be a drug, you don't freaking test it, in such ways, to see if it works!!!! It helps you lead an ethical and moral life - if you don't pick and choose from it like a buffet table -.-;

Upvote nonetheless, even though I still believe religion serves a purpose, even though almost everyone abuses it to further their own grounds....

Well, who do you think put the snow there? Obviously God did! So surely this was divine intervention. Which God surely told him to wait for before attempting the jump. It's just like how Jesus fills all of those bags with air before stunt men jump off of buildings.
