I spent a year in S. Korea and had asked my then S. Korean girlfiend to take me to a restaurant that served gaegogi because I wanted too try it. Just out of curiousity, novelty. Sadly, we never got around to it. She did warn me however that, contrary to the following wiki, the dish was rather pricey ~ $30-$40, maybe it was just where she had been planning to take me. While she had a little dog as a pet, most seemed to view dogs in much the same way as we view pigs. No "special species" status, no preferential treatment. I can respect that.

They value Shih Tzu dogs only - or at least have Shih Tzus as decorative pets and do not eat them.

A friend of mine was talking about eating dog meat last night. He said that the meat is very tender and delicious and that the first time he ate it he got to meet the dog beforehand!

Hey I'd try it. I'll *try* anything, I just can't promise to like it. So yeah, pigeon and horse taste great, jellyfish and pig's ear... not so much.

Awww, why not? The catsanddogs channel description says "This group is for the dog and cat fancier," and the Vietnamese obviously fancy their dogs, in a sauce with vegetables.
