I have a Computer Animation degree so I'll help out. What they teach you is VERY limited. You can learn plenty of principals, but animation basically comes down to moving around points, recording their position, and doing it again.

To delve into the VERY complex apps like Maya, or 3DStudio takes a lot of extra time, thats hard to fit into a classroom curiculam.

My guess is he took the points from the notes he took, and was so fed up with his inept teacher he decided to show it off.

'This is my friend Colin's bear animation. And this video is genius I can't stop laughing. So here you can laugh too. You have to listen to it with sound, and watch it twice cause the second time is way better.

So this video was created by a third year Game Development student at UOIT. This is the final animation for an Animation Arts class. My friend Colin used all the techniques that were taught by this professor. And as you can see, he made the best animation with what was taught. Seriously, it's genius.

The song is "Funky Monkey Dance" from Mother 3

This was not for an Animation program. It was one class, for one semester.'

This is one of the few videos that it was actually amusing to read the comments for. If you go from the start of comments its like a game of spot which animation/game company signed off on the awesomeness of this video.

Another bit from the comments goes into the fact that the school lacks a
real 3d instructor. The course wasn't stricly animation but a short game design intro. All they taught for art was the basics of tech.

grrr, it won't play for me. I'll upvote on good faith. I totally agree with KOMMIE regarding learning multimedia in College. I have taken dozens of multimedia classes, 3D modeling and animation included, but have only learned what feels like a days worth of material (excluding 3D courses). Their idea of "teaching" at my college consists of watching lynda.com videos and completing an assignment. Professional design practice and theory really isn't taught here.

ROFL! Ok, it's playing now. Totally worth the upvote! If it were a little longer it would make an awesome looping video! I was fortunate to have a really good instructor for my 3D animation class. But still, being on a quarter system, we didn't have much time to do any big projects.
