errr... funny? but isn't one of the GREAT things about current OS file browsing that it's so much EASIER to keep files organized on my puter than on my REAL desk! sure is lovely and it might be fun - but of all the things to do to improve OS file handling, this is probably totally a waste of time... IMHO of course!

I agree with clamboni for long-term file organisation, but personally I tend to keep my desktop almost empty most of the time, and just use it as a dumping ground for stuff I'm working on or using in the short term. Having it visible when I show the desktop means I won't forget about it. For that sorta temprorary / ad-hoc usage I can see this system being pretty useful.

I like the the crumple feature. I would love to see this as Apple's OS XI. (maybe OS XII)

No filenames. So no way of telling the icons apart. Very pretty I'm sure but ultimately useless.

Neat technology... we need a way to see document titles, though.

Oh, and I really hate that pronunciation of lasso.

Re filenames I think some ability to zoom in quickly to bring up metadata would be the answer.

Still the problem is that replicating the real world is sometimes not the answer. I have Google Desktop Search - I hit ctrl twice and I can search for any file instantly. That's quicker than exploring a virtual desktop.

Still it will likely have it's own applications and userbase.
