Good stuff. I think colorization is generally pretty loathsome, but it's particularly bad when it comes to old cartoons -- back in the '60s when they were colorizing these cartoons for television, the only way to do so was to actually redraw them frame by frame, which was typically done on the cheap by substandard Asian animators. So if you compare a colorized cartoon with the original, you'll find that many times the original looks considerably better, and not just because of the color vs. no color issue.

So yeah... boo to colorization.

For instance with this cartoon, do a few comparisons between the two youtube videos... Look at the backgrounds in specific. Pretty shocking. If it's that noticeable with these tiny youtube videos, imagine how bad it is when you're watching these on TV.

I despise colorization of movies, but cartoons are colored anyway..so I don't have a problem with coloring them

But... it's literally redrawn by inferior animators... so it is in essence a completely different cartoon, and a worse one at that... so if you're going to be against any type of colorization, it should be for cartoons moreso than live action.
