Oh my. Now I need to see that movie. I mean, like today. I thought I had heard this song about 100 times too many times in my life. I thought I never wanted to hear it again. I thought it had been interpreted and interpreted long past the point of anything that could mean anything to me. I was wrong.

this was definitely my favorite scene of the movie, also one of the most powerful. the song is sung so beautifully and the context is brilliant. it was a shame that the black boy had to die. for that brief 10 seconds, he was my favorite character. also, what a set of lungs? holy schamoly that kid can sing!
