(25 votes - 7 comments - 829 views)
OLED = organic light-emitting diode. It's an amazing new technology that will enable extremely thin TV's with a contrast ratio that is about 100 times better than the best consumer LCD's or Plasma's on the market today. They use less power to run, and are way brighter too. A few issues reamain to get this technology to the mainstream, the big issue being the organic material used has a relatively short lifespan. However this issue is being addressed, and in fact is near a solution. It's quite clear looking at the facts here this OLED would be a game changer if released in actual production products, being that it's also easier, more efficient and cheaper to manufacture.
