Story on Yahoo news says that cops in Guinea went on strike, taking their "superiors" hostage, demanding more pay.

What exactly do they mean by superiors?

Later Monday, some of them took four of their superiors hostage.

Those held are the director of the national police services and his assistant; the director of the highway police; and the director of the central anti-drug agency, police sources said.

Still angry, the police officers took hostage more of their superiors who came to negotiate with them, taking the total number held to around a dozen.

Among those taken hostage were the director of the police intelligence agency, the deputy director of the counterespionage and counterterrorism agency, and the head of the fire service.

Pretty impressive haul, eh?

Hope it ends peacefully for the good of everyone, but I mean wow. How do you boggle a hostage negotiation that badly?

Oh right, you're negotiating with the cops.
