I've heard from others that YouTube videos act hinky on Macs sometimes. I don't own one, but I believe I read somewhere that this might work: After you click the Play button, let the video run a few seconds, then pause it. Then allow the video to completely load. Once it finishes loading then resume viewing it. The arrow should then disappear.
Give it a try. Let me know if it works.
