Congratulations on reaching new heights on VideoSift. You have earned yourself 50 stars, earning you status of Gold Star member. You have been awarded 1 Power Point for achieving this level. Thanks for all your contributions.
I thought a lot of those were decent submissions. Look- they are your posts and we would never prevent you from removing them, but for ones that have conversations in them it's just a good idea to be cognizant of the fact that you are killing them too.
I may have been a bit harsh in my email - because I've seen a few sprees over the years- but the crux of it is that once you put something out there it effects other people as well - hate to sound preachy - but our actions on here don't exist in a vacuum. Having said that, if you really think the submissions are shit - kill away. The community is made up of a glomming together of subjective opinions.
In reply to this comment by Bakalex: There were many submissions of my own that doesn't deserve to be in the sift. First of all, all the one in my personal queue (in a month, none of them come out, and, to be honest, they were all crap).
In other hand, many of my submission barely reach the sift. It's more like a pollution than a contribution. It's not because I like some kind of music that it deserve to be referenced by videosift. The first aim of this site, as i've understood when you created it years ago, is to find videos that are worth to be seen, as there's a lot of junk on the internet. But what i've been doing since i'm a member is just to post stuff I like. Subjectivity replaces my objectivity.
To sum up, this "kill spree" is more a clean-up i've always wanted to do about my own submission.
It seems like a livemusic video to me. You can ask in public with SiftTalk.
In reply to this comment by Bakalex: Thanks for your interest to this video. But i'm questioning about the livemusic tag. Even if the visual footages are taken from lives, the sound itself is from the album studio. Does it fit in livemusic anyway ? I can't even decide myself
Are these French-Canadians? How can you tell, from the accent?
In reply to this comment by Bakalex: Finally, I'm pretty agree with MINK. The title is innacurate and misleading. Even tags don't make me think there's a bit of humour.
I don't know if anyone else has told you this, but you have one of the best avatars here. Every time I see it I want to laugh. And when you are being serious, it helps drive the point home even more. It's funny how avatars influence our thinking about the speaker, n'est-ce pas?
hiya LOL I saw your dead notdead commentary I know a glitch on youtube- only youtube noone else - if you open a page with a you tube video and dont play it, after aout 5 or 10mins the player "dies" and you get the "The video is no longer available" message
Well I think ignorance can be more of a cause for stupidity. I see stupidity as more of a verb then a adjective, also stupidity can sometimes be subjective. But ignorance is something that you help with, stupidity you can't do much about.
But hey it's all semantics I suppose.
In reply to this comment by Bakalex: Totally agree with you gorgonheap on your whole comment. And I'm seriously considering to edit a tee with "Ignorance != Stupidity" printed on it, since i've been repeating that fact for years now. Ignorance is lack of knowledge. Stupidity is lack of common sense.
BTW, i'm constantly questioning myself about a connection between those two, which leads me to assume that they're not directly binded.
